Battaash battered the opposition in the King’s Stand Stakes in a flying start to Royal Ascot yesterday.
We’re back with racing tips for Day 2 with the Prince of Wales’s Stakes among the highlights.
Royal Ascot Racing Tips – Day 2
13:50 – Hampton Court Stakes – First Receiver – 12/5
With Frankie Dettori on board, the Queen’s three-year-old looks capable of escaping the scrum here after winning a 1m Kempton maiden earlier this month.
14:25 – King George V Stakes – Arthurian Fable – 14/1
Narrowly edged out at Newmarket last time here but could go one better today to add to Martin Dwyer’s good start to the week.
15:00 – Prince Of Wales’s Stakes – Lord North – 6/1
Looks an interesting each-way option after solid improvement in recent times, including a statement win at Haydock towards the start of the month.
15:35 – Royal Hunt Cup – Montatham – 7/1
Bang in form after a handy handicap win at Newmarket just 11 days ago and should still be fresh for this trip.
16:10 – Windsor Castle Stakes – Sheriff Bianco – 6/1
Could bring some American swagger to the day’s penultimate race after a credible second at Churchill Downs last month. Oisin Murphy looks an interesting booking.
16:40 – Copper Horse Handicap – Collide – 11/2
Aiming to make it three wins on the bounce after recent successes in France and at Chelmsford last week. Form looks ominous despite a 5Ib penalty.
Odds correct at time of writing but may be subject to change.
