FRIDAY

COMMONWEALTH CUP, 15:40

Ten Sovereigns – 13/8 – still looks the class act in this field despite a disappointing run to finish fifth in the 2,000 Guineas. Looks better suited to the shorter distance here, with all of his three 2018 wins coming over this race length – 6f.

Hello Youmzain – 6/1 – could be the joker in the pack here after pulling off a surprise upset in the Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock, defeating the previously unstoppable Calyx over this distance.

Khaadem – 9/1 – trainer Charles Hills tasted victory in this race with the classy Muhaarar in 2015 and will hope Khaadem can follow in those footsteps in 2019. The three-year-old has potential after an assured winning run at Newbury in May.

CORONATION STAKES, 16:20

Hermosa – 1/1 – one of Aidan O’Brien’s strongest claims of Royal Ascot week, Hermosa will take some stopping after a ruthless victory in the 1,000 Guineas earlier this year. A follow-up win in the Irish equivalent at the Curragh three weeks ago suggests the timing is perfect for another show-stopping win here.

Pretty Pollyanna – 13/2 – if the pre-race favourite has an off-day, back Pretty Pollyanna to pounce after briefly threating Hermosa’s chances at the Curragh before settling for second.

SATURDAY

DIAMOND JUBILEE STAKES, 16:20

Invincible Army – 10/3 – his recent form has been described as ‘savage’ by trainer James Tate, and that is reflected in pre-race favourite billing for Saturday’s feature race. Classy victories at York and Doncaster suggest a career-best win at Royal Ascot is within reach.

City Light – 7/1 – another French fancy, he looks a bright prospect to return to form at Royal Ascot after finishing second behind Inns of Court in the Prix Servanne in April. Finished runner-up in this race in 2018.
