The highlight of the annual darts calendar is here as the PDC World Championship returns to Alexandra Palace this winter.
With Covid restrictions in place, Ally Pally is set to be a lot less rowdy than usual this year.
It’ll be left to the world’s best players to make all the noise this festive season, and as luck would have it, this tournament looks even more open than usual.

And then there were two!
The World Darts Championship Final has a distinctly Celtic feel, with Scot Gary Anderson facing Welshman Gerwyn Price.
Anderson has reached the final four times previously, winning twice, whilst this is Price’s first final.
Sunday’s Final (Best of 13 sets)
Gary Anderson vs Gerwyn Price
Welshman Price has won more events this year than anyone else, and if he can cap off a fantastic year by pocketing the £500,000 first prize and lifting the Sid Waddell Trophy he will replace Michael van Gerwen as world number one.
They last met in a major final in the 2018 Grand Slam of Darts. Price won 16-13 to a chorus of boos from the audience after an ill-tempered final in which The Iceman slowed his opponent down. Amongst his quotes after the match, he said “He can’t handle playing me, …if I put him under pressure he would crack and he did.”
Without the audience to cast him the pantomime villain again, will a match in an empty Ally Pally have the same intensity?
In their six televised battles from the 2018 Grand Slam, Price has won five out of six, including beating The Flying Scotman twice in the Premier League in August and September.
So far in this year’s tournament, Anderson has won with more ease getting to this stage, but their overall scoring averages are very similar.
However, Price’s checkout percentage is four points higher and, in his defeat of Chisnall, Anderson did struggle at times on the doubles. He also has hit 20 against 11 100+ checkouts.
So how will today’s final pan out?
Anderson started the tournament unfancied with mediocre form and recent battles against persistent back and knee injuries.
With the memory of their fiery final in both their minds, will The Iceman try to wind up the Scotsman again here?
Even without a crowd, don’t expect Price to restrain himself when celebrating 180s and winning legs, and he is fancied to continue his recent winning form against Anderson and we think he’ll be making plenty of noise tonight.
🎯 Score Prediction: Price to win 7-4 @ 15/2 🎯
