The flat racing season is starting to wind down at Newmarket, but before the spiritual home of racing signs off for another year, some future stars could put an early marker down for next season as the two-year-olds take top billing over the Rowley Mile.

Racing Tips – 20th October – Newmarket Racing Tips
🏇 14:05 – My Prospero – 4/1
Noteworthy newcomer could prosper under guidance of Tom Marquand given impeccable pedigree as half-brother to My Oberon. Worth a market check on first showing in Suffolk given William Haggas’ record with turning out debutants.
🏇 14:40 – Soul Stopper – 10/1 EW
Extra experience could see this quietly improving Andrew Balding colt stop his opponents in their tracks having left sluggish Sandown debut behind with a decent third at Goodwood. Well worth a try at 1m 2f on evidence of that smart run last time out.
🏇 15:50 – State Occasion – 7/2
Unlikely to stand on ceremony in a refreshingly open contest if repeating promising early-season form; is knocking on the door of a first win of the year after finishing no lower than third in last three efforts. 1m looks to be her sweet spot having posted smart runs at both Kempton and Ascot over this trip.
