Glorious Goodwood Day 5 Tips
Goodwood has certainly lived up to its glorious billing this week, with superstars Stradivarius and Baattaash making it a week of record-breakers at the famous Sussex racecourse.
It’s not over yet, with Saturday serving up a sizzling eight-race card on what is expected to be the hottest day of the year. The Lillie Langtrey and the Stewards’ Cup are the highlights of the final day of racing, and we’re back with our last set of racing tips for the festival.
Glorious Goodwood Tips – Day 5 Preview
Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes- 15:00
It’s a small but perfectly formed field for this year’s Lillie Langtrey, with just four runners entered into Saturday’s feature race.
Enbihaar (4/5) looks to be the class act here. John Gosden’s exceptional five-year-old appears to be in good shape to defend her title after winning this at a canter last season and will be sharper for her run at Newmarket earlier this month. Her closest challenge looks to be once again coming from Manuela De Vega (11/4) after priming herself for this run with two eye-catching wins at Haydock earlier this summer.
It’s not the most prestigious race of Glorious Goodwood week, but the Stewards’ Cup can be the best watch, with a mammoth 28 runners entered into this year’s race. Such a large field means there’s plenty of interesting value to consider here.
Swindler (16/1) looks capable of being star performer here as a two-time winner at Ascot (2019) over this distance while Tom Marquand’s good week could continue on the heavily-fancied Naaharr (19/5) after a storming run at Newbury two weeks ago.
Silent Echo (28/1) looks a stealthy contender in the each-way stakes after posting a decent fifth in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot.
