One of the most highly anticipated fights of the year finally arrives on Saturday night as old rivals Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder spar in a trilogy fight being billed as ‘Once And For All’.
Here’s our look at the betting ahead of Fury vs Wilder 3…
Fury vs Wilder Betting Preview | Boxing Betting Tips
Fury will be looking to settle the argument against his American rival for good having won their second duel in February 2020 by technical knockout.
The British boxer hasn’t always followed the most conventional path to the top but his credibility as a world-class sportsman has never been in doubt, with Fury set to put a 31-fight undefeated streak on the line this weekend. 21 of those wins have come via KO or TKO.
With Wilder surely set to come out all guns blazing to prove a point in Nevada, Fury could be primed to add to that tally with some clever boxing against an opponent whose fighting style he has likened to ‘playing with an atomic bomb’.
For his part, Wilder will be keen to prove his trainer Mark Breland’s decision to throw in the towel in the seventh round of their 2020 bout was too hasty, a call that the Bronze Bomber disagreed with as he went on to lose his WBC heavyweight title after an unbroken five-year spell.
The American infamously knocked Fury to the ground in the final round of their first battle before his opponent salvaged a lifeline by beating the count. Wilder will be hoping to showcase more of the potent punching power that sees his knockout-to-win ratio stand at an incredible 98%.
It’s taken some time to reach a point that sees both these fighters stepping into the ring, with injuries, contractual disputes and the Covid-19 pandemic forcing several delays to this match-up, but the two will finally resume rivalries at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada on Saturday night at around 4am UK time.
While Fury is the favourite, even a win for the Wythenshawe-born boxer is unlikely to lead to the contest all British boxing fans have long been waiting for.
Anthony Joshua’s recent shock defeat to Oleksandr Usyk means a mouthwatering clash between the current two titans of British boxing remains unlikely for now. A win for Fury in this contest would likely see him take on AJ’s Ukrainian conqueror in a unification fight for the WBA, IBF and WBO belts.
