Who are you backing in the latest Euro 2020 qualifiers?

The Euro 2020 qualifiers continue this week with England potentially just 90 minutes away from reaching next summer’s tournament. It could also be a defining week ahead for Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales with the clock ticking down.

Here are our predictions and Euro 2020 betting tips ahead of the latest set of qualifiers.

Euro 2020 Qualifiers – Betting Predictions – October 2019

Thursday’s games

Wales still have plenty of work to do to put themselves in contention for a play-off spot in Group E, with just four qualifiers to go. However, Ryan Giggs’ plans have been dealt a huge blow with Aaron Ramsey missing through injury for a game that increasingly looks a must-win.

Away form has been Giggs’ major Achilles heel in this tournament so far after two damaging away defeats to Croatia and Hungary earlier this summer. Giggs will be hoping Man Utd’s one bright spark from this season – Dan James – can step up once again after a classy goalscoring display against Belarus.

Verdict: Slovakia 1-1 Wales
Best Bet: Dan James to score at any time at 69/20.

Rotterdam plays host to perhaps the game of the week with Northern Ireland desperate to defend their grip on second place in Group C.

Michael O’Neill’s men have shown time and again they have the resilience and tactical discipline to pull off a shock. However, the 2-0 home defeat against Germany has checked some of their momentum in this group. Northern Ireland’s task is made even more daunting by the fact ‘De Kuip’ has been a happy hunting ground in recent times for the Dutch, with 16 wins in all competitions for the Oranje at this stadium.

Verdict: Netherlands 1-0 Northern Ireland
Best Bet: Under 1.5 goals at 7/2.

A second chance for Scotland in the Nations League play-offs means there is less pressure riding on this game than in previous campaigns. Nevertheless, Steve Clarke desperately needs a shot in the arm from somewhere to restore confidence after a deflating qualifying period so far.

The Tartan Army face an uphill task against a Russia side still riding high on the momentum built from last year’s World Cup quarter-final run, with the Scots on the end of a 2-1 reverse at Hampden Park only last month. Clarke will look to John McGinn to add some spark to the midfield after an impressive start to his Premier League career with Aston Villa.

Verdict: Russia 2-1 Scotland
Best Bet: John McGinn to score first at 39/2.

Friday’s games

England will look to rubber-stamp their place at Euro 2020 on Friday night as they travel to the Czech Republic. The maths are simple: a win will seal their spot at next year’s tournament. England are currently priced at 9/2 in the Euro 2020 outright odds to end ‘all those years of hurt’ at Wembley next summer, but still need to put the final hard yards in to get qualification done and dusted.

The Three Lions were uncharacteristically sloppy in defence against Kosovo last time out at St. Mary’s, conceding after just one minute. Fancy Southgate’s side to be slow out the blocks again? An England win from behind is available at 77/10.

In fact, despite cruising through the competition up to this point, England have often taken time to warm up in these qualifiers with a significant slice of their goals to date coming midway through the first half. That means an England goal between 16-30 could be worth a look at 42/25.

Finally, it could be a night to remember in Prague for several of England’s young Lions as Southgate continues to blood new talent. Mason Mount has shown plenty of composure in front of goal for Chelsea this season with four goals in eight Premier League games. Back him to break his duck in an England shirt at 18/5 with Marathonbet.

Best Bets

England to win from behind at 77/10.
A goal between 16-30 minutes at 42/25.
Mason Mount to score the last goal at 18/5.

Verdict: Czech Republic 1-3 England

Odds correct at time of writing but may be subject to change.
