Which nations can build some early momentum in the race to reach Euro 2020?
Read on for our Euro 2020 qualifying betting tips for the key games on Friday night…
England vs Czech Republic, Fri 22nd March, 19:45
Gareth Southgate’s hungry young Three Lions start their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign at Wembley as they take on a Czech side likely to pose the biggest threat to topping Group A. The Czechs will be looking to improve on a mediocre World Cup 2018 qualifying campaign where they finished a distant third to Germany and Northern Ireland to miss out a play-off berth.
England’s recent qualifying record at Wembley is formidable, with the Three Lions not dropping a single point on their road to qualifying for both Euro 2016 and World Cup 2018. Home fans will also be keen to catch a glimpse of Declan Rice and Callum Hudson-Odoi with the young duo receiving their first call-ups. Expect Southgate to be as pragmatic as always, however, with recent wins away to Poland and Slovakia suggesting the Czechs have become more resilient on the road under Jaroslav Šilhavý.
Moldova vs France, Fri 22nd March, 19:45
World Champions France kick off their Euro 2020 qualifying campaigns against likely group minnows Moldova in Chișinău and will be looking to set their stall out In Group H ahead of a trickier test at home to Iceland next week.
It could be a long evening for the home side, with Moldova seeking a first competitive qualifying win – bar two Nations League victories against San Marino – since 2013.
