Premier League Predictions and FPL tips – Gameweek 6

The table is starting to take shape – but can any teams spring a surprise this weekend? Here’s our take on this week’s action – including our Fantasy tips and Premier League predictions…

Saturday’s games

Fulham vs Watford, 12:30pm

Slavisa Jokanovic welcomes his former club to Craven Cottage at the weekend, with his Fulham side looking for an improved defensive display after a rocky few weeks on the road.

Safe pick: Alexander Mitrovic – Fulham – £6.8m
Value pick: Craig Cathcart – Watford – £4.5m

Fantasy Football Analyst prediction: Watford to return to winning ways against a Fulham side impressive in patches but still adapting to life in the Premier League.

3.00pm games

Burnley vs Bournemouth

Sean Dyche’s side can’t buy a win at the moment, but have a good chance to shift the narrative if they can keep a free-scoring Cherries side quiet at Turf Moor. If Eddie Howe’s team can nick the first goal, it might be another frustrating afternoon for the Clarets.

Safe pick: Ryan Fraser – Bournemouth – £5.7m
Value pick: Dwight McNeil – Burnley – £4.5m

Fantasy Football Analyst prediction: Attack to win out against defence as the Cherries continue their recent charge up the table.

Cardiff City vs Man City

Pep Guardiola’s side has a great chance to bounce back from a midweek defeat to Lyon as they head to the Welsh capital to take on the Premier League new boys. These sides played each other last January in the FA Cup, with the away side comfortably taking the spoils in a 2-0 win.

Cardiff City

Safe pick: David Silva – Man City – £8.5m
Value pick: Victor Camarasa – Cardiff City – £4.5m

Fantasy Football Analyst prediction: City to correct a rare mis-step in midweek with all three points in South Wales.

Crystal Palace vs Newcastle Utd

With their main man back, Palace looked like a whole new proposition last week as they grabbed all three points away at Huddersfield. Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle side have had a nightmare run of fixtures, but desperately need something to kick-start their season here.

Safe pick: Wilfried Zaha – Crystal Palace – £7.0m
Value pick: Jacob Murphy – Newcastle – £4.9m

Fantasy Football Analyst prediction: More frustration for Benitez as the Eagles’ extra quality helps them take all three points.

Leicester City vs Huddersfield

A golden chance for the Foxes to get back to winning ways at the King Power after back-to-back defeats. David Wagner’s side look worryingly short of goals but showed against Everton they can grind out a plucky away point if the home side’s energy levels drop.

Leicester City

Safe pick: James Maddison – Leicester City – £6.6m
Value pick: Christopher Schindler – Huddersfield – £4.4m

Fantasy Football Analyst prediction: Some relief for Claude Puel as speculation continues to mount about his long term future in the East Midlands.

Liverpool vs Southampton

Jürgen Klopp’s side returns to league action looking for another three points in their race for the title after another memorable European night. Southampton will have to make do without key man Danny Ings on his return to his parent club.

Safe pick: Roberto Firmino – Liverpool – £9.4m
Value pick: Mario Lemina – Southampton – £5.0m

Fantasy Football Analyst prediction: The Reds to extend their 100% winning record against a Saints side demoralised from Brighton’s late equaliser on Monday night.

Man Utd vs Wolves

Arguably one of the most intriguing games of the weekend as a confident Wolves side travel to Old Trafford looking to continue their strong recent run. Jose Mourinho’s side finally look to be hitting their stride following a sticky start.

Marcus Rashford

Safe pick: Paul Pogba – Man Utd – £8.2m
Value pick: Willy Boly – £4.5m

Fantasy Football Analyst prediction: Wolves could cause a scare, but Utd should have enough to continue their recent recovery and further take the pressure off their Portuguese boss.

Brighton vs Spurs, 5:30pm

Will Spurs slip to a fourth defeat in a row? A trip to the Amex is never easy for any Premier League side, but Mauricio Pochettino will be aware any more points dropped could kill any realistic chance of a title bid stone-dead.

Safe pick: Christian Eriksen – Spurs – £9.3m
Value pick: Shane Duffy – Brighton – £4.5m

Fantasy Football Analyst prediction: Spurs to eventually overpower a dogged Brighton side to take three points back from the South Coast.

Sunday’s games

West Ham vs Chelsea, 1.30pm

Manuel Pelligrini finally enjoyed the sweet taste of victory on his 65th birthday against Everton, but can he follow it up against a Blues side currently undefeated under Maurizio Sarri? Chelsea’s Italian boss has ruled out a title bid, but a win here would certainly underline the fact they could have staying power.

Safe pick: Eden Hazard – Chelsea – £10.9m
Value pick: Mark Noble – West Ham – £4.5m

Fantasy Football Analyst prediction: Chelsea to make it six from six against a West Ham side still containing plenty of question marks defensively.

Arsenal vs Everton, 4.00pm

It’s been mixed fortunes for the two new Premier League managers involved in this fixture over the last month, with Unai Emery seemingly hitting his stride at the Emirates, whilst doubts are creeping in among the Goodison Park faithful over how much progress Marco Silva has made after a poor run of results.

Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey celebrates his hat-trick and his sides fifth goal during the Premier League match between Arsenal and Everton at Emirates Stadium

Safe pick: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Arsenal – £10.9m
Value pick: Dominic Calvert-Lewin – Everton – £5.4m

Fantasy Football Analyst prediction: Not the game Everton would have wanted following a three games without a win. Arsenal can be flat-track bullies at the Emirates and this has all the hallmarks of a comfortable home win.
