Arsenal fans have seemingly had enough of Arsene Wenger after their FA Cup exit to Watford. If the Frenchman left, who would replace him at the Emirates? We put forward a few candidates for the Gunners hot seat!
Thierry Henry – 9/1
A left-field appointment, but the former Gunners striker would be welcomed with open arms. Henry scored 228 goals in 377 appearances for Arsenal and is the club’s record scorer. The Frenchman is currently working on his coaching badges and is heavily involved with Arsenal’s U19. Interestingly, Wenger has already said he feels Henry could be a future manager at the Emirates.
Ronald Koeman – 14/1
Since arriving at Southampton in 2014, Koeman has done a remarkable job. Last season he challenged for a Champions League spot and this season his Saints side have gone about their work in the same manner. Despite losing a number of key players last summer, the Dutchman has improved his squad. Koeman already has three Eredivisie titles under his belt and you feel at Arsenal he would be given to the tools to challenge for the Premier League.
Slaven Bilic – 16/1
He’s been at West Ham less than a season, but the Croatian has worked wonders in East London. Bilic has transformed the Hammers into a free-flowing attacking outfit and gets his players up for the big games. If Bilic was to take the Arsenal job, would he bring the talismanic Dimitri Payet with him?
Roberto Martinez – 20/1
The Everton boss plays the sort of football Wenger likes to see at Arsenal and conducts himself with class. Could be the ideal fit for the North London club.
Diego Simeone – 25/1
A born winner and a miracle worker at Atletico Madrid, Cholo has claimed nearly everything for Los Rojiblancos. Simeone broke the Barcelona-Real Madrid duopoly in 2014 and won La Liga with Atletico – their first title since he won the league as a player with the club. The Argentine boss has also won the Copa del Rey, Europa League, Super Cup and Supercopa.
