With the Premier League hotting up and the fantasy football office banter becoming rife, Marathonbet have decided to provide you with all the tips and insights ahead of each game week in the Fantasy Football calendar. No longer will you be the butt of all Fantasy Football jokes!
Charlie Taylor – £4.2 Burnley
Having started in all nine of Burnley’s recent fixtures Charlie Taylor is our budget option in defence this week. Although Burnley’s clean sheets have dried up recently, a favourable fixture list against Swansea (A), Southampton (H), Everton (H) and West Ham (A), suggest that some clean sheets may be on the horizon and a chance to pick up some big points.
Andy Robertson – £4.7 Liverpool
Now admittedly any inclusion of a Liverpool defender in a flaky back four may raise some eyebrows, however, having nailed down a starting spot at left back for the reds Robertson could build on Liverpool’s 10 clean sheets this season. Upcoming fixtures also indicate some clean sheets coming in as Liverpool play three of the lowest scorers in the league, Southampton (A), West Ham (H) and Newcastle (H) respectively.
Jordan Ibe – £4.9 Bournemouth
Now this one provided a little bit of a debate in the office, as Kenedy (£4.7), on loan at Newcastle, appears to be making an impressive start to life on the Toon as Rafael Benitez plays Kenedy in what appears to be his natural position as part of a front three. Jordan Ibe on the other hand gets our vote as Bournemouth look to have found their scoring form, scoring five goals in last three outings and with fixtures against a sinking Huddersfield (A) and an inconsistent Newcastle (H).
Theo Walcott – £7.3 Everton
Again, another tough decision with a buoyant Arsenal coming back to form both Aaron Ramsey (£7.0) and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (£7.8) brought in big points in Gameweek 26 and were strongly in our thoughts. Theo gets the nod from us though as Big Sam will be expecting a huge reaction after a humiliating result against Arsenal, Joey Barton’s analogy of 11 blue crisp packets floating around the pitch should ring in the ears of the Everton players and provide some motivation. Theo was the only bright spark in a dismal Everton performance and hopefully points will ensue in Gameweek 27.
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang – £10.5 Arsenal
#YoPierre appears to have started life at the North London club in electric form, with his friend and a revitalised Mkhitaryan (£7.8) by his side the Gabon international looks hungry for goals. Electric pace and a deft finish in front of goal – big things are expected from the new Gunner. Now in the short-term fixtures don’t look too good for Arsene Wenger’s men with games against rivals Spurs (A) and runaway leaders Man City (H). The following fixtures are easy on the eyes with the Gooners facing Brighton (A), Watford (H), Leicester (A), Stoke (H), Southampton (H), Newcastle (A) and West Ham (H) – the long-term benefits of getting Aubameyang in your team may be pivotal in the Premier League run in. Rotation with Alexandre Lacazette (£10.2) may also be a turn off for some fantasy football players, but Aubameyang looks to be an option that you’d be silly not to consider.
