RECKON you can outwit a former Premier League star in the match prediction stakes?

We’ve enlisted the help of former Crystal Palace and Cardiff City star Danny Gabbidon to help us predict the results for each week’s games.

Danny, who goes head-to-head each week with YOU, the punters, notched his first win of the season after overcoming @BrownieGB95 13-10 last time out.

Both contenders had some cracking predictions, including Brownie’s 1-3 correct score in the Watford v Arsenal clash and Danny’s correct 1-1 draw in the Palace v Bournemouth game.

But it was Gabbidon who took the spoils by predicting Everton would beat Stoke 1-0 and Manchester United would grab three points away to Hull by the same score. Nice work!

This week we welcome Twitter user JohnoJayDJ for a crack at beating the big man. Will he do the punters justice?

Here are Danny’s thoughts ahead of this weekend’s games and both players’ predictions ahead of the fun and frolics.

Manchester United v Man City

“City without Aguero is a big, big factor and with United at full strength, they look good this season. I still see neither team wanting to lose as priority, I think a draw.

@Gabbidon35 – 1-1

@JohnoJayDJ – 0-0

Arsenal v Southampton

“An Arsenal home win. It has to be. They made two good signings. It’ll be a tough game, but Arsenal have enough to get them over the line.”

@Gabbidon35 – 2-1

@JohnoJayDJ – 2-0

Bournemouth v West Brom

“We’ll have to look out for some Robson-Kanu Cruyff turns here! A lower half of the table, these are always hard to predict. I think Bournemouth will edge it.”

@Gabbidon35 – 2-1

@JohnoJayDJ –  1-1

Burnley v Hull

“I expect Hull to just keep on going here, especially with a few new signings they made! Burnley look like they’re going to struggle this season.”

@Gabbidon35 – 0-1

@JohnoJayDJ – 0-1

Middlebrough v Crystal Palace

“With the addition of Chambers, Boro have strengthened even more. They look quite good to be honest. Palace, an old side of mine, not had the same luck – and now no Remy!”

@Gabbidon35 – 0-0

@JohnoJayDJ – 1-0

Stoke v Tottenham

“Neither team has had the start they would have wanted – Stoke without a win and Spurs not fully firing. Spurs need Kane to step up!”

@Gabbidon35 – 1-1

@JohnoJayDJ – 1-2

West Ham v Watford

“Neither with great starts but West Ham are starting to get bodies back which is a positive sign. Zaza has also joined and he looks the real deal. Watford look like they’re going to struggle under new management.”

@Gabbidon35 – 2-0

@JohnoJayDJ – 1-1

Liverpool v Leicester

“Again, same question with Liverpool as last time out – which one will turn up? Can be sure they’ll score goals, but they’ll concede just as many too! Leicester starting to get going, finally.”

@Gabbidon35 – 3-1

@JohnoJayDJ – 2-1

Swansea v Chelsea

“I fear for the Swans this season. Sold their two best players and aren’t looking great at the moment. Chelsea have got that ‘win ugly’ trait back under Conte – and building momentum now.”

@Gabbidon35 – 0-2

@JohnoJayDJ – 0-2

Sunderland v Everton

“Another ugly game, they’re all ugly games this week! Looks like Sunderland will struggle this season – not convinced with their signings. Everton looking good under Koeman, too. Moyes against his old club should spark up a tight game.”

@Gabbidon35 – 0-0

@JohnoJayDJ – 2-3
