A very brief guide to the FIFA elections

The election for the next FIFA president is this Friday and we’ve put together a very brief guide to all the candidates in the running to succeed Sepp Blatter!

Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim al-Khalifa – 3/5

The current favourite to be the next FIFA president. Sheikh Salman is the head of the Asian Football Confederation with alleged involvement in human-rights violations. We’ll let you make up your own mind if he’s a suitable fit for FIFA.

Gianni Infantino – 6/5

That bloke who does the Champions League draw is also general secretary of UEFA. Infantino has most of Europe’s backing for the vote, along with Jose Mourinho’s – who actually doesn’t take part in this in any way.

Prince Ali bin Al Hussein – 8/1

Unsuccessfully ran against Sepp Blatter last May before the former president was suspended.

Tokyo Sexwale – 50/1

Despite having the greatest name in world football, it is unlikely the South African candidate will receive many votes.

Jerome Champagne – 66/1

Another candidate with a great name, the former executive at FIFA is a long-shot who isn’t expected to do much.
