There are just two more sleeps until the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio officially kick off.

The opening ceremony, full of dazzle and splendour, graces your TV screens on Friday before cycling and swimming on Saturday.

The football starts today however to accommodate all the group games. South Africa women take on Sweden women at Rio’s Joao Havelange Olympic Stadium, 5pm UK time.

Brazil women play immediately after at the same venue against China, while defending champs USA play New Zealand in Belo Horizonte at 11pm.

Team GB aren’t involved in the football this time round as the home nations can’t agree on how to team up.
